CLOSED: Bayern Munich completes the signing of Kompany's wish

Bayern Munich has reached an agreement to incorporate Jonathan Tah, the standout center-back from Bayer Leverkusen, into their squad. According to the latest reports, the Bavarian club and Tah have reached an understanding, although the official announcement of the signing depends on a key move: the departure of Matthijs de Ligt.

The German club, under the leadership of Vincent Kompany, is looking to bolster their defense following a season in which Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen clinched the Bundesliga title. The Bayern board has spared no resources in strengthening their team for the 2024-2025 season, having already invested over 100 million euros in new signings.

Tah, the center-back Kompany wanted

Jonathan Tah, with 28 years of age and solid experience in the Bundesliga, has become a priority for Bayern. Last season, Tah played 48 matches, started 45 times, scored 6 goals, establishing himself as a defensive mainstay for Leverkusen. The German magazine 'Kicker' has confirmed that Bayern and the player have reached an agreement for his transfer.

However, Tah's arrival in Munich is contingent on Matthijs de Ligt's departure. The Dutch defender has drawn interest from Manchester United, but so far, negotiations have not progressed enough to finalize his move to Old Trafford. De Ligt's sale is crucial for Bayern to be able to financially complete Tah's signing.

Bayern Munich is in a race against time to finalize these operations before the transfer market closes. Tah's addition would be a significant step in rebuilding their defense as the club aims to reclaim its dominance in the Bundesliga and establish itself in Europe.
