Barcelona: The 4 players that Flick doesn't want to see even in paintings

Hansi Flick has shown his new authority at FC Barcelona by requesting the departure of four players who are not part of his plans for the 2025/26 season. The German coach wants to start preseason with a defined and functional group, explicitly asking for Iñaki Peña, Ansu Fati, Oriol Romeu, and Pablo Torre to leave the team before July.

The most complex case is that of Ansu Fati. His departure has been complicated due to the high cost of his contract, which hinders an agreement with Monaco, one of the interested clubs. However, Flick does not consider the winger in his new project and sees his exit as necessary to free up wage bill and space in the attack.

Oriol Romeu, after his return from Girona, will also not be taken into account. His style does not align with the pressure and dynamism philosophy that the German coach wants to implement in the midfield. Currently, there are no formal offers for the midfielder, but the club is already working to find him a new club.

Barcelona does not count on them

Pablo Torre has a different fate: he will be loaned out. Villarreal is his most likely destination, where he could gain continuity under Marcelino's guidance. Flick values his potential but believes he still needs experience outside the Barça environment.

Lastly, Iñaki Peña is out of the equation following the arrival of Joan Garcia, who will take on a leading role in goal. The young goalkeeper will have to find a new team if he wants to maintain continuity in his progress. Deco has already started working to execute these key departures at the beginning of the project.
