2 positions that Real Madrid urgently needs to reinforce

Real Madrid has gone two consecutive years without winning important titles, a record that continues to push Florentino Pérez and company to make signings. The upcoming Real Madrid transfer market must have two very clear objectives to compete with the top teams in Europe: a center-back and a midfielder.

The project entrusted to José Mourinho absolutely requires a left-footed center-back and a playmaker midfielder to narrow the gap with FC Barcelona in the domestic league and regain dominance in the UEFA Champions League.

Urgency of a left-sided center-back for José Mourinho's defense

The defensive line of Real Madrid requires a direct quality leap for the latter part of the season. Antonio Rüdiger's contract will end in June 2027 without a renewal in sight, while Ibrahima Konaté struggles to settle in José Mourinho's system, and Dean Huijsen is still in a developmental stage.

In addition to Éder Militão's recurring physical issues, the team needs the arrival of a left-footed defender capable of immediate performance to ensure solidity in ball distribution.

Alexis Mac Allister, the perfect fit to partner with Aurélien Tchouaméni

In the creative zone, the Portuguese coach demands a player with good ball control to pair up with Aurélien Tchouaméni in the double pivot. This adjustment would allow Arda Güler to stay fixed as a winger on the right, avoiding pushing the Turk back to organizing tasks due to the physical uncertainties surrounding Bernardo Silva's continuity.

In this context, Alexis Mac Allister, a 27-year-old midfielder whose contract with Liverpool ends in June 2027, fits as the ideal choice to provide balance to the white team. The board led by Florentino Pérez will assess the financial availability to formalize both proposals before the year ends.

If Real Madrid completes both signings at the beginning of 2027, the squad will have the necessary options to challenge the most powerful clubs in the continent and compete for both LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League with José Mourinho at the helm.
